This Blair Athol was distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2023 at 12 years old and 56.5%. It is the third release in the festive series from Malts of Scotland, with a Christmas party on the label.
It comes from a single sherry hogshead, MoS 23027, which gave 291 bottles. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The nose brings baked apple, candied fruit, gingerbread, orange zest and raisins. The palate has roasted nuts and almonds, Christmas spices, fruit cake, heather honey, figs and plums, later shortbread, tobacco, old leather and oak. The finish is long and full, with sherry, spice and fruit lingering.
