Blair Athol 8 Years is a single malt from the Perthshire distillery at Pitlochry, bottled independently by Douglas Laing as part of its Premier Barrel series. It has a sherry character and comes in a flask-shaped bottle, with a label full of alliteration.
The nose offers crisp green apple, honeyed barley and cinnamon buns dipped in coffee. Marmalade and lemon cream lead the palate, rounded by caramel and grassy malt, and the finish brings baking spices, treacle slice and toffee apples.
