Blanton's Gold Edition (51.5%)

Blanton's Gold Edition is a single barrel bourbon bottled at 51.5%, which is 103 proof. It was the second version created after the original Blanton's at 93 proof, and it was matured in American oak. The Blanton's name goes back to the first single barrel bourbon, created in 1984 by Elmer T. Lee and named after Colonel Albert B. Blanton, a former president of the distillery. Lee recalled how the Colonel would sometimes choose a honey barrel from the middle of Warehouse H to enjoy with others.
