Blanton's Takara Black is a single barrel bourbon bottled at 40% ABV and made for the Japanese market. It keeps the character of Blanton's while offering a softer, more elegant profile aimed at the Japanese palate. Blanton's first appeared in 1984 and is produced at Buffalo Trace Distillery. The brand belongs to Japan's Takara Holdings, which once owned the distillery and later sold it to Sazerac while keeping the Blanton's name. Each bottle of Blanton's comes from a single barrel and is marked with its own dump date and barrel number.
