Boann Irish Whiskey Marsala Cask (70cl, 47%)

This is a single pot still Irish whiskey from Boann Distillery in Drogheda, made with locally grown Irish malted and unmalted barley, oats and rye. It is matured first in heavily charred ex-bourbon barrels of American oak, then finished in Superiore and Fine Marsala butts of French oak. It belongs to the single pot still range introduced in 2024. Bottled at 47%, it is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The nose brings fine spices and resinous bark with roasted orange, fresh-cut grass and floral honey. The palate is rich and viscous, with sweet marmalade, then peppermint and oak spice. The long finish ends on cinnamon and clove.
