Boann – Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey Marsala Cask (70cl)

This is an Irish single pot still whiskey from Boann, finished in Marsala casks. The mash bill combines malted barley, unmalted barley, oats and rye, all grown locally in Ireland. It comes in a 70cl bottle. The spirit was first matured in heavily charred 200-litre American oak ex-bourbon barrels from Brown-Forman of Kentucky. It was then filled into Superiore and Fine Marsala butts of French oak, sourced in collaboration with the Marsala house Cantine de Vinci. The American oak gives a backbone of vanilla and honey, layered with French oak spice and juicy citrus from the Marsala wine.
