Boann – Single Pot Still Madeira Cask Irish Whiskey (70cl)

This is a single pot still Irish whiskey from Boann Distillery. The distillate was made from a mash of malted barley, unmalted barley, oats and rye, all Irish grown. It was first matured in heavily charred American oak ex-bourbon barrels, sourced from Brown-Forman. The whiskey then went into Madeira casks, obtained through a collaboration with the Madeira house Justino's. They held vintage Colheita wines of Tinta Negra, Boal and Sercial, ranging from sweet to dry, and were formerly Cognac casks of French oak. The label design draws on water, a nod to the River Boyne and the North Atlantic around Madeira.
