This is an Oloroso VORS sherry from Bodegas Tradicion, made from 100% Palomino Fino. It has aged oxidatively, without the layer of yeast that marks fino and manzanilla, for more than 30 years, and the average age of the wine is 45 years. It is bottled in the jerezana bottle, sealed with wax and numbered by hand.
Bodegas Tradicion was founded in Jerez in 1998 and focuses on old sherry. Its sherries are not cold filtered and have no caramel or sulphites added.
The colour is mahogany. The nose offers hazelnut, cocoa, balsamic and cedar. The palate is oily and round with great intensity, showing nuts, a little coffee and figs, and it ends on bitter chocolate.
