Boingneres Armagnac Reserve Speciale is a Bas-Armagnac from Domaine Boingneres in Le Freche, Gascony, France. The estate was founded in 1807 and farms about 21 hectares planted mainly with Folle Blanche, along with Colombard and Ugni Blanc. The spirit is distilled in a traditional alambic Armagnacais copper column still and is a blend aged approximately five to ten years in French oak barrels and 420-litre Gascon oak casks, bottled near cask strength at about 48% ABV. The nose shows orange zest, marshmallow, fresh grape, pressed flowers and subtle oak. The palate is creamy fruit, green apple, citrus peel and toasted oak with vibrant acidity and gentle tannin. The finish is long and savory with mocha, olives and lingering spice.
