Bonarda DOC - Giorgi

A red wine from Lombardy, specifically the Oltrepò Pavese area, made mainly from Croatina, known locally as Bonarda. The vines grow in clay and limestone soils, giving the wine an earth-oriented complexity and robust structure. It shows an intense ruby red colour, with aromas of ripe red fruits such as blackberries and plums, mixed with spicy notes and a slightly herbaceous undertone. On the palate it is generous and full, with a soft, almost velvety entry, vibrant freshness and well-integrated tannins. The finish is long and pleasantly aromatic, with returns of fruit and spice. It suits flavourful dishes such as roasts, game and aged cheeses.
