Borsci Elisir San Marzano is an amaro produced in San Marzano di San Giuseppe, in Puglia, Italy. The recipe was handed down through generations and commercial production began in 1840. It is built around a blend of spices and flavoured with melissa, wormwood, cloves, saffron and other botanicals, with a rum base. The producer states that all ingredients are 100% natural. It is dark brown, velvety and deeply flavoured, and is traditionally sipped as a digestif, neat or cold over ice, or used in mixed drinks. Its coffee and cocoa character suits autumn and winter drinks.
