Bowman Brothers Small Batch is a Virginia straight bourbon from the A. Smith Bowman Distillery in Fredericksburg, bottled at 45% ABV. It is named in honour of the early American pioneers John J., Abraham, Joseph and Isaac Bowman.
The mash of corn, rye and malted barley is triple-distilled and matured in new charred oak. Only a limited number of barrels are selected for each small batch.
The nose brings vanilla bean, caramel and toasted oak with a touch of rye spice. On the palate come honeyed corn, brown sugar and light toffee, with a mild peppery edge from the rye. The finish is medium and clean, fading to soft oak and gentle rye spice.
