Bowman Brothers Small Batch is a Virginia bourbon from A. Smith Bowman Distillery in Fredericksburg, bottled at 45% in a 75cl bottle.
It is distilled three times, the third pass made through a copper pot still called Mary. The mashbill is 75% corn, 15% rye and 10% malted barley. It won a Double Gold medal at the 2019 New York World Wine & Spirits Competition.
The nose offers vanilla bean, caramel, toasted oak and rye spice, with almond biscotti and coconut cream beneath. The palate is honeyed, with brown sugar, toffee and cinnamon, and the finish is medium, with soft oak and gentle rye spice.
