Bowmore 12 Year Old is an Islay single malt, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
It is matured in a mix of bourbon and sherry casks, and the distillery uses floor maltings and peat-fired kilns. The result is a whisky in which gentle peat sits alongside honey and bright fruit.
The nose has soft peat smoke, honey, citrus and a hint of sea air. The palate is smooth and balanced, with sweet malt, lemon, gentle peat warmth and subtle oak. The finish is medium to long, with lingering smoke, honey and a touch of brine.
