A craft ancho chili liqueur produced by Pennsylvania Pure Distilleries in Glenshaw, Pennsylvania, using the distillery's Boyd & Blair Silver Rum as the base spirit. The rum is infused with chopped ancho chili peppers, including the seeds, at high proof for several days, then filtered and balanced with simple syrup. Bottled at 40% ABV, it combines smoky ancho chili heat with subtle sweetness and rich spice.
Ancho chilies, dried poblano peppers, contribute dried fruit, cocoa and subtle earthiness rather than overwhelming heat. The liqueur is intended for cocktails such as margaritas and daiquiris, adding depth and a savoury spice element.
