This is a single cask Craigellachie, a Speyside single malt distilled in 2015 and aged for 9 years. Brave New Spirits bottled it at 48.1% ABV for its Cask Masters Golden Proof series, in an edition of 330 bottles.
It was finished in a Château Larose-Trintaudon wine barrique from Bordeaux, which brings a fruit-forward influence to Craigellachie's robust malt character.
The nose has fruit compote, sweet malt and ripe orchard fruit. On the palate are candied fruits and stewed plums with malty sweetness and gentle warming spice. The finish is long and fruity.
