This is a 14-year-old blended malt from Breeze of Kintyre, released as The Forbidden Kingdom in a 70cl bottle. It was fully matured in an Oloroso sherry quarter cask.
The nose is a mix of Bavarian malt sweets, tar, light smoke, burnt caramel, herb meadow and rubber, with bacon, plum, damp wood, salty sea air and dark root-wood notes. On the palate it is brighter and fruitier, with herbs and hay coming forward. The smoke is lighter but still clear, like the remains of a dying campfire, with a slightly dirty edge and maritime saltiness.
The finish is light and mildly smoky, of medium length.
