Bulleit Bourbon Single Barrel (75cl, 52%)

This is a single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon from Bulleit, drawn from one cask and aged in new charred American oak. It is bottled at 104 proof (52% ABV) and is non-chill-filtered. The barrel uses Bulleit's high rye mashbill, reported at roughly 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% malted barley, with yeast strain 4, which is associated with a subtle leather note. The nose combines caramel, vanilla and toasted oak with bright rye spice and a hint of dried fruit. The palate is bold and oily, with rye spice, brown sugar, dried cherry and baking spice over a note of leather. The finish is long and warming, with oak, spice and caramel sweetness.
