Bunnahabhain – Stiùireadair (70cl, 46.3%)

Stiùireadair is an unpeated Islay single malt from Bunnahabhain, bottled at 46.3% in a 70cl bottle. The name is Scottish Gaelic for helmsman, a reference to the seafarers who linked the distillery with the mainland, and the helmsman appears on the bottle. It is matured in bourbon, sherry and refill casks, is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour, with an amber-gold hue. The nose offers dried fruit and creamy caramel, with hints of brine, vanilla, nuts and some spice. The palate is creamy, with dried fruit, sea salt and caramel alongside subtle nuts and gentle spice. The finish is long, with fine dried fruit notes.
