Bushmills Black Bush Irish Whiskey (40%)

Bushmills Black Bush is a blended Irish whiskey from the Old Bushmills Distillery in the village of Bushmills, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It is bottled at 80 proof (40% ABV). Roughly 80% of the blend is triple-distilled malted barley, a higher share than is usual in blended Irish whiskey. The malt is aged for up to seven to eight years, mainly in first-fill and second-fill Spanish Oloroso sherry casks, then married with a small parcel of sweet grain whiskey aged in ex-bourbon barrels. The nose is rich and fruity, with dried fruits, sultanas, prune compote, baked apple, toffee and vanilla fudge. The palate is silky and creamy, with sherry sweetness, dark plums, candied citrus peel, milk chocolate, nutmeg and cinnamon. The finish is medium to long, with dried dark fruit, oak, caramel and gentle spice.
