Campbeltown Loch is a blended malt from J&A Mitchell & Co, the company behind Springbank Distillery. It combines single malts from the three Campbeltown distilleries, matured in bourbon and sherry casks, and is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. Maritime coastal notes meet sweet peat, soft fruit and spice.
The nose offers soft peach, apricot, floral honey, lemon meringue and a touch of salty soot. The palate is oily, with herbal hints beneath vanilla caramel and baked fruit, and seaweed salinity and baking spice alongside a little peat. The finish brings ginger, nutmeg, sweet tea, oatcakes and lightly smoky oak.
