Springbank – Local Barley 8 Year Old 2025 (70cl, 58.1%)

The 2025 release of Springbank's Local Barley series, an 8-year-old single malt from the Campbeltown distillery. It was distilled in July 2016 from Bere barley grown at High Ranachan Farm on the Kintyre peninsula and floor-malted at the distillery. The whisky matured in a 50/50 mix of ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks and was bottled in December 2024 at a natural cask strength of 58.1%, non-chill-filtered and naturally coloured, in a 700ml bottle. 13,500 bottles were released. Tasting notes describe honeyed malt, dried fruit and coastal brine, with toasted oak, a gentle peat smoke and a full-bodied, cereal character.
