Springbank Local Barley 2023 Edition is an 11 year old Campbeltown single malt bottled at 55.1% in a 70cl bottle. Local Barley is an annual release made from barley grown in or around Campbeltown, and this year's barley is the Belgravia variety, grown at Glencraigs farm.
The whisky was matured in 55% sherry, 35% bourbon and 10% rum casks, and 15,000 bottles were released worldwide.
The nose is fruity, with papaya, mango, lemon and a subtle floral note. Citrus continues on the palate alongside manuka honey and pear drops, with a salty, mineral note emerging. Soft peat smoke rounds off the finish.
