Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch No. 11 Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 57.9%)

This is Batch No. 11 of Kilkerran Heavily Peated, a Campbeltown single malt from Glengyle Distillery in a 70cl bottle. It forms part of the Peat In Progress series. The whisky is bottled at cask strength and peated to around 45PPM. It was matured mainly in Bourbon casks, with a share of Sherry: 90% Bourbon and 10% Sherry for this batch. The nose is citrus-led, with lemon, key lime pie, toasted rye bread and peat smoke. On the palate come toasted marshmallows and campfire embers, with hints of vanilla and custard. The smoke carries into the finish, which ends on a mineral note.
