Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch No. 13 is a Campbeltown single malt from Glengyle Distillery, in a 700ml bottle. It belongs to the Peat in Progress series and is bottled at cask strength, 117.2 proof, with peating at around 45PPM.
The whisky was matured in 90% bourbon and 10% sherry casks.
The nose opens with creamy butterscotch and caramel, then rye bread and tea leaf. The palate is oily and smoky, with Iberico ham and brandy snaps. The finish is gentle, with lemon sherbet, honeycomb and mint, and peat smoke carrying through.
