Kilkerran 12 Years Old is a Campbeltown single malt from Glengyle, the sister distillery to Springbank. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
The whisky is matured in a mix of 70% bourbon casks and 30% sherry casks.
The nose is typically described as minerals, lemon, digestive biscuits and roasted almonds, with herbs and a slightly dry edge. The palate is rounded and lightly sweet, with dried fruit, pepper, brine and Mediterranean herbs such as thyme and rosemary over earthy peat. The finish holds lingering oak and a hint of chocolate.
