This is a 1983 Canadian Club Premium Limited Edition, a six-year-old Canadian whisky. It was distilled in 1983 and bottled in 1989, at 40% ABV, in a large 1.14 litre bottle.
The nose has spicy rye toast and pine needles, with toffee, green apple, wood smoke and forest floor. Mint and citrus come through when water is added. On the palate it is smooth and mellow, with light caramel, vanilla, a little grain and spice, and mocha and herbal notes. The finish is medium in length, clean and slightly dry, with mint and oak, then a soft fade of citrus and smoke.
