This is a single cask Islay malt from Caol Ila, distilled on 6 June 2016. Best Dram bottled it from cask 9 on 17 July 2026, after ten years, at a cask strength of 57.6%. The outturn is 674 bottles of 70cl, without chill-filtration or added colour.
The finish took place in a first-fill Chardonnay butt from the St. Michael-Eppan winery in South Tyrol. Maritime peat smoke is joined by honey, citrus and a fine note of rose.
The nose shows bright citrus, green apple, light vanilla sweetness and sea salt with a breath of peat smoke. The palate is powerful and oily, with juicy yellow fruit, creamy vanilla and maritime spice. The finish is long, dry, mineral and salty, with citrus peel.
