This is a 10-year-old Caol Ila from Islay, a single cask in Douglas Laing's Old Particular range. It was distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2021 from a refill butt, giving 754 bottles at 48.4% ABV, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose is described as oceanic, peaty and grassy. The palate is oily, phenolic and lightly salty, with spice, summer tar, malt and iodine. The finish brings dry spices ahead of coal dust and soot, with a hint of wood fire smoke.
