Caol Ila – 10 Year Old Vintage 2016 1st Fill St. Michael-Eppan Chardonnay Butt Finish Cask #9 (57.6%)

This is a single cask Caol Ila from Islay, bottled for Best Dram at 57.6%. The whisky was distilled on 6 June 2016 and bottled on 17 July 2026, at ten years old. Cask #9 yielded 674 bottles. After maturation it was finished in a first fill Chardonnay butt from the South Tyrolean winery St. Michael-Eppan, which brings fruit alongside the island's peat smoke. The nose offers fresh green apple, soft vanilla, a maritime freshness and a hint of peat smoke. On the palate it is powerful, with an oily texture.
