Caol Ila – 12 Year Old 2011 Ronin The Single Cask

Caol Ila 12 Year Old is an Islay single malt distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2023 by The Single Cask for its Ronin series. It comes from a single first fill quarter cask that previously held Catoctin Creek rye whiskey, and the outturn was 106 numbered bottles. The rye cask sits alongside Caol Ila's coastal peat smoke. A quarter cask is small, so the spirit has more contact with the wood. Peat smoke, rye spice, vanilla sweetness and toasted oak are the flavours usually described.
