This Islay single malt was distilled at Caol Ila in August 2009 and bottled in February 2022 for Douglas Laing's Old Particular series. It is 12 years old and comes in a 70cl bottle at 48.4% ABV.
It is a single cask release from a refill hogshead, which gave 306 bottles. It is bottled without colouring or chill-filtration and arrives in a tube.
The nose is tarry, with spice and strong smoke. The palate starts sweet and piquant, then becomes earthier and sootier. The finish is long, with damp campfire ash and burnt toast.
