Caol Ila 12 Years Old is the core single malt from the Caol Ila distillery on the northern shore of Islay. It is matured in refill and rejuvenated American oak casks and bottled at 43% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
The nose has peat smoke, sea salt and citrus, with hints of vanilla and cereal grain. The palate is medium-bodied and silky, with smoked fish, white pepper, lemon zest and a little honey sweetness. The finish is of moderate length, with briny seaweed, charred oak and peppery spice.
