This is a 15 year old Caol Ila from Islay, a limited release in the Special Release series and made in an unpeated style. It was bottled in 2018 at a natural cask strength of 59.1%, in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was matured in refill and rejuvenated American oak hogsheads together with European oak ex-bodega butts, which bring a sherried element to the spirit.
The palate is smooth and sweet, with a minty, salty edge and crisp fresh peach, balanced by that sherried character.
