An Islay single malt from Caol Ila, released as the 15th edition of the Artist series from La Maison du Whisky, titled Something in the Water. It comes in a 70cl bottle, and the label carries artwork by Radhika Surana.
The whisky was distilled in 1984 and matured for 40 years in a single refill hogshead, selected for this edition in 2025. It is bottled at 51.3% ABV, without colouring or chill-filtration, and only 99 bottles were filled.
The nose combines aged peat with vanilla, freshly cut wood and maritime notes. The palate shows apricot and citrus with warm spices, honey and smoke. The finish is long and dry, with Islay smoke, floral sweetness and ripe oak.
