This Caol Ila was distilled on 30 July 2014 and matured for nine years in a first-fill Catoctin Creek rye quarter cask. It was bottled on 21 August 2023 by the independent bottler The Single Cask Ltd. at 49.7%. The whisky is non-chill-filtered and free of added colour, and the cask yielded 142 individually numbered bottles.
The rye cask adds spice to a smoky Islay malt. The nose is of strong smoke, tar, oak, honey and brown sugar, with nuts. The palate has soot, oak, honey, nuts, malt sweets and pale grapes. The finish is long, with damp bonfire ash, toffee, nuts, oak and a pleasant rye spice.
