This is an eight-year-old Islay single malt from Caol Ila, bottled by James Eadie at 48.3% in a 70cl bottle. It is natural in colour and not chill-filtered.
After its main maturation it was finished for more than six months in European Palo Cortado sherry hogsheads, which add a restrained sherry note and nutty sweetness to a smoky, maritime character.
The nose has fresh coastal smoke, lemon peel and sea spray, with soft oak and nutty notes. The palate is smoky, maritime and lively, with citrus, roasted nuts and spice. The finish is clear and lasting, with gentle smoke, oak spice and a salty coastal note.
