Caol Ila – Best Dram 17 Year Old 2008/2025 (51.9%)

This is a 17-year-old Islay single malt from Caol Ila, bottled by the independent bottler Whisky Druid in its Best Dram series. It is a single cask bottling, with 262 bottles filled from one cask. The whisky was distilled on 9 April 2008 and bottled on 17 June 2025, spending all 17 years in a first fill Amontillado sherry hogshead. It is bottled at a cask strength of 51.9%, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. Its character is described as smoky, spicy and fruity, with the maritime smokiness of Islay set alongside the depth of the sherry cask.
