This is an 11 year old Cardhu from the 2020 Special Release, bottled at a cask strength of 56%. It was distilled in 2008 and matured in refill casks and freshly charred ex-bourbon American oak hogsheads.
The nose brings ripe pear, soft melon and green banana over soft leather and freshly planed wood, with salty undertones. The palate is creamy and rich, with a dry, salty core, and the finish is long, velvety and dry with chilli spice. Water softens it and lengthens the finish.
