This is an 11 year old single malt from Cardhu, a Special Release bottled for 2020 in a 70cl bottle at natural cask strength, 56%.
It is a limited bottling, matured in ex-bourbon casks and in a fresh charred American oak hogshead. The label describes smooth, honeyed layers with notes of spiced oak.
The nose is young and fresh with fruit, flowers, honey and oak. On the palate it starts sweet and fruity, then moves towards peanuts, oak and pepper. The finish is fairly long, with sweet lemon coming through.
