Cardhu 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt, matured in American oak casks and bottled at 40% ABV in a 1 litre bottle.
Cardhu was founded by Helen Cumming in 1824, and the distillery above the River Spey is known as a key malt in the Johnnie Walker range.
The nose is floral, with heather honey, orchard fruit and a trace of warm cereal. The palate is smooth and rounded, with soft toffee, golden apple, vanilla bean and a little toasted oak. The finish is medium, with malt sweetness, citrus and light spice.
