This is a 12 year old Cardhu single malt, released to mark 200 years of Cardhu Distillery in Speyside. It is a limited edition at 40%, in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured entirely in wine casks, and colouring has been added.
The nose offers red berries, cooked apples and icing sugar, joined by dark chocolate and caramel. On the palate red berries meet cinnamon and a hint of dark chocolate. The finish is long and spicy, with a pleasant vanilla note.
