This is a limited edition Cardhu single malt, created for the distillery's 200th anniversary and bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It spent 12 years matured only in wine casks.
Cardhu stands in Speyside and is known for soft, elegant whiskies. The distillery changed its name from Cardow to Cardhu in 1981.
The nose offers red berries and dried apple, with icing sugar, dark chocolate and a touch of caramel. On the palate come fruity red berries, a note of cinnamon and hints of dark chocolate. The finish is long, with a pleasant mix of spice and vanilla.
