Cardhu 12 Years Wine Cask is a Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 40%. It was released for the 200th anniversary of the Cardhu distillery.
The whisky is matured entirely in wine casks, an original take on the standard Cardhu bottling.
The nose is pleasant, with red wine, berries, strawberries, tannins, a hint of tobacco and wood. The palate is velvety, with red fruit, chocolate, orange and gentle spice. The finish is sweet, with caramel and a little bitterness.
