A 15 year old Speyside single malt, bottled by Cardhu itself at 40% ABV. The distillery stands near Knockando and draws water from springs at Mannoch Hill and the Lyne Burn. A fermentation of about 75 hours supports its fruity house style.
The nose opens with hints of fruit and spice, then vanilla and tropical fruit, dried fruit and light fruit cake with flaked almonds. Later come toffee and toasted coconut.
The palate is medium-bodied and sweet, with pepper, light charring, toffee, chocolate and the burnt sugar crust of a crème brûlée. The finish is soft and lightly drying, with dark chocolate and a faint trace of smoke.
