This is a 15 year old single malt from Cardhu, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The label gives the distillery's home as Morayshire.
The nose opens slowly, with vanilla and tropical fruit that dry into a light fruit cake with flaked almonds, then deepen to sweet, spiced richness with toffee and toasted coconut. Water brings out a Speyside character.
The palate is viscous at first, fresh, then peppery and lightly toasted, growing richer with toffee, chocolate and burnt sugar over crème brûlée. The finish is soft, light and gently drying, with dark chocolate and a trace of smoke.
