Carpano Classico is a sweet vermouth from Carpano in Turin, Italy, sitting between the house's lighter and richer styles. It is built around citrus brightness, gentle wormwood and spice that support rather than dominate, which makes it a practical vermouth for cocktails. It works in a Negroni, a Manhattan or an Americano, and equally well on the rocks with an orange twist as a simple Italian aperitivo. The nose has citrus peel, light caramel, vanilla and bittering herbs. The palate is spicy and citrusy, with clove, orange, gentian and soft wormwood.
