Castiglioni is a Chianti DOCG from Frescobaldi, produced on the Castiglioni estate in the Val di Pesa, south-west of Florence. The area is suited to Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, with a warm, dry microclimate and afternoon breezes from the Tyrrhenian Sea. The wine is ruby red, with a soft, fruity taste and a decisive, well-defined character. It pairs well with pasta with meat ragù, grilled meat and aged cheeses.
