Catoctin Creek – Roundstone Rye Single Barrel (40%)

Catoctin Creek Roundstone Rye is a single barrel rye whisky from Purcellville, Virginia. It is made in the pre-Prohibition style from 100% rye grain, sourced locally when available, and is mashed, fermented, distilled and aged at the distillery. The whisky spends around two years in new charred white oak casks and is bottled at 80 proof (40%). It is described as smooth and woody, with the full-bodied, fruity and nutty grain character of a Virginia rye. The nose brings caramel, buttery toffee and a hint of lemon.
