A single malt from Chain Pier, the Edinburgh distillery run by the team behind John Crabbie & Co, released as a collaboration with Milroy's. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 57.8% ABV.
The spirit was distilled on 9 May 2019 using two small 500 litre copper stills, and was matured entirely in an Australian Shiraz cask. It was bottled on 14 September 2022 and has a deep, tawny colour.
The nose brings toffee, a hint of spice, sweet grape and forest fruits, with malt and oak. On the palate come sweet grape, orchard fruit and creamy toffee, then raisin, berry coulis, dark fruit, wood spice and vanilla. The finish is long and balanced.
